James Ramirez is a Senior Consultant at Seattle Jobs Initiative (SJI), a workforce development nonprofit supporting local and national workforce initiatives for underserved communities. James is passionate for strengthening impactful workforce development initiatives supporting a more equitable economic recovery. Combined with over 20 years of experience James has extensive working knowledge of business operations and leadership, employee training and facilitation, and community outreach and recruitment practices.

Before joining SJI James served in community colleges strategizing effective outreach efforts supporting K-12 career exploration, career pathway development, and college admission and enrollments for diverse communities. James co-chaired the work and application of Tarrant County College’s designation as a Leader College with the national Achieving the Dream education framework working to close student equity gaps. Prior to Higher Education, James worked as a District Manager for Aldi Foods supervising a district area of stores in Ohio and Texas. He transferred to Texas to successfully team-lead Aldi’s new expansion that included large scale hiring events, employee training centers, and new store openings.

James served as an Licensed Practical Nurse in the U.S. Army Reserves and holds a Master’s in Educational Policy’s; Leadership from The Ohio State University.
